For the second year in a row, Grade 4 students at Minnewasta have been participating in a unique program calld "Coding Quest" along with The Learning Partnership and other students from select schools accross Manitoba. Students have been using a program called "Scratch" to learn the basics of computer programming and computational thinking. Students are using their skills to create games, animations, short stories and even musical instruments. On May 16th, some students from Western School Division will be attending an event called the Coding Quest Arcade at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) in Winnipeg, where they will get to meet other young coders and share their creations. Western School Division will also be hosting a local Arcade event on June 4th at Maple Leaf School from 1:10 - 2:10 so that all our Grade 4 students can share their work and be inspired by the work of others.
