Reading Recovery is an early literacy intervention program primarily for students in Grade 1. It is designed to provide the extra support in learning to read and write that some children require. A child in Reading Recovery receives an individually designed and delivered 30-minute lesson daily from teachers who receive on-going additional training in literacy. This program is in addition to the English Language Arts experiences provided in the classroom. Reading Recovery is an intensive short term intervention and lasts approximately 20 weeks.
