Minnewasta School
About Us

Minnewasta School is an English Track K-4 school in Morden, Manitoba.  We have approximately 300 students and 30 teaching and support staff.  Minnewasta School opened in 1990.  We have 10 classrooms in our building and 4 modular classrooms "Huts" as well as a full gym, music/multi-purpose room, library and beautifully landscaped spacious playground.

School Culture

Minnewasta School serves families from within Morden and the surrounding rural areas.  We provide a clean and safe environment with an inclusive atmosphere and strong home/school connections, thanks in large part to our teachers and a dedicated PAC.

Minnewasta staff are caring and take a collaborative approach to planning and decision making.  All of our staff are lifelong learners who participate in a variety of professional development opportunities.

At Minnewasta we place a strong emphasis on the 6 main points in our Student Code of Conduct and teach students how to treat themselves, others and property with respect.  We teach the social and life skills to support the development of caring and helpful citizens who are lifelong learners.  In Grade 4 many of our students take on a leadership role as Conflict Managers.

Supports

Minnewasta School has a consultative and collaborative resource program, EAL services, and a guidance program that includes classroom instruction, counselling and K-4 career development programming.  We also have early intervention programs to support the development of children including Reading Recovery, Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy and Home-School Liaison Workers.

Extra-Curricular

At Minnewasta School we offer a variety of clubs and activities at lunch-hour recess throughout the year.  Whether your child enjoys playing sports in intramurals, programming robots or building with Lego, there will be an extra-curricular activity for them to enjoy!
