​Dear prospective international students and parents,

Unfortunately due to the uncertainty caused by Covid-19, the School Division has made the decision not to host international students for the 2020-21 school year.  A few of the reasons that made the school division to take this decision are:

1. At this point in time we are not sure if students will be allowed to return to school in the fall and we are unsure if the Government of Canada will be issuing new student visas for this upcoming year.
2. With all the unknowns, travel will be difficult for the next while and we cannot guarantee that students won't be sent back should we get struck with a second wave of the pandemic. 
3. Insurance coverage and quarantine arrangements would also be a concern for any new students arriving in the fall.

We are also saddened to inform you that after next school year, the Western School Division International Education Program will be on an indefinite hiatus until such a time where a new school can be built.  With the increase in student numbers at all Morden schools, the Western School Division does not have the capacity to host international students.  Priority is to be given to Morden residents and - in order to guarantee that we have enough room for our students - we will not be able to accommodate international students at this time. 

We value international education and appreciate our international students. We have had a very successful program for the last 20 years and we hope that soon we will be able to open up for international students again!
