As part of the Canadian Mental Health Association Mental Health Week, ÉMMS is hosting a Mental Health Expo Day. It will happen on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the school during regular class time.
Our Keynote Speaker is Kevin Rempel, Paralympian and Motivational Speaker. When he lost mobility due to a motocross injury, Kevin turned to sledge hockey. Now he's planning to help one of the Humboldt Broncos transition to the sport. Kevin also shares the experience of losing his father to suicide.
During the day of the Mental Health Expo, Guidance and Support Workers from ÉMMS and Morden Collegiate will be available to those students who need to talk to somebody.
We are encouraging parents/caregivers to have conversations with their children about what sessions they chose to attend. Parents/caregivers are welcome to call ÉMMS to address any concerns that arise.
