A reminder to all grade 7/8 students: The Access Event Centre has banned EMMS students from their building over the lunch hour. No EMMS students are allowed to enter. This is a rule imposed by the City of Morden and is supported by local authorities.
The chess tournament bracket has been updated for round 2. Round 2 will start NEXT Wednesday (April 30th) due to the student vote. Regular chess club is still going on, so if you're not in the tournament, you can still show up to play chess
Our EMMS Civic Student Vote will be happening on Wednesday, April 23rd. Everyone will get to practice voting just like what happens during elections in Canada! To celebrate Canada, please wear your red and white or any Canadian-themed clothes. Think maple leaves, hockey jerseys, or your favourite red and white outfit! Let's make our school proud by joining the vote and showing our Canadian spirit. See you in your best red and white on April 23rd—let's have fun and make our voices heard!
MYRCA voting has started taking place. If you missed your chance to vote and you have read 3 MYRCA books, stop by and see Mrs. Wiebe in the Library. There are ballots available and your vote can still be counted. MYRCA voting will conclude on April 22nd. Stay tuned to hear who the winning Manitoban authors are.

QSA is starting to plan events for the last few months of school and could really use some extra help! If you are interested in being creative and helping with some behind the scenes work, please stop by Ms. Kehler's room Tuesdays at lunch. You are welcome to eat with us and then get started on a project!

Pokemon Unite! E-Sports
There is a mandatory meeting for all EMMS Pokemon Unite E-Sports players Wednesday, April 16th at 12:25 in room 113. You must attend if you wish to play on the team this year.
Badminton skills will be held every Tuesday and Thursday (unless otherwise stated) in the gym from 4:00-5:30 until the end of April.

Tues, Apr 22nd – home tournament girls team at Morden Collegiate boys team at EDT. Boys team is dismissed from class at 3:10, meet at the trophy case for attendance with Mr. Hutton. Departure will be from the AEC parking lot. Gbemi, Blakely, Brenna, Raelyn will be brought back to EMMS on the same bus that drops off the boys. Girls at EMMS are dismissed at 3:30, walk to MCI gym and find Mr. Nicholls.
Wed, April 23rd – singles and doubles practice 4-6PM, team meeting prep for Thursday.
Thu, April 24th – SINGLES FINAL TOURNAMENT @ Parkside School Altona (girls event) and MCI Gretna (boys event). Best of luck! SINGLES players are dismissed from classes at 2:40, meet at the trophy case by the gymnasium ASAP for attendance, departure will be from the bus loop. Players at EDT make sure you have all your gear with you when you leave for your Option class.
Congratulations to Faith, Yuri, Allie/Jamillah, Marta/Glory, Gianna/Noor, Ava/Taylin, Brayden, Rhett, Rogan/Korede, Herald/Sabit, Noah/Hudson, Raed/Arya for making playoffs last week at Parkland and Emerado. A special mention goes to Brooks and Andre for winning the doubles event!
