Report Cards

March 12, 2018

It's Report Card time again!  The Manitoba Provincial Report Card is intended to be a tool for schools to communicate with parents about student learning.  In Grades 1-6, students receive a report card with indicators for a variety of the learning processes in each subject area.  Note that this is different than receiving a "mark" in a course (Students in Grades 7-12 receive a percentage grade in addition to the indicators).

The first page of the report card provides a key for understanding the indicators.  Along with the indicators, teachers include a comment on your child's learning, which includes strengths, challenges and next steps.  The report card is primarily to inform you of your child's progress but it can also be a valuable tool when discussing learning goals with your child.

If you would like to learn more about the Manitoba Provincial Report Card, you can visit http://www.edu.gov.mb.ca/k12/assess/report_cards/.  There are are also parent brochures available at the bottom of the page.
